Does the president control gas prices?

The answer to that is no. The president does not control gas prices. Gas prices are determined by the amount of oil that we have and even if domestic oil companies further increased production, they would sell to the highest  bidder. Oil is a global market which means America is a big buyer but doesn’t supply much. When people question why gas prices went down so much after Obama got elected into office the answer is that he took office during the heart of the worst global recession since the Great Depression and that’s had nothing to do with Obama.
